Hall Place & Gardens, Bexley, South East, United Kingdom
Hall Place and Artwise present a new exhibition of the vibrant paintings of Adrian Berg RA running from 1 April until 3 September 2017.
Adrian Berg (1929-2011) painted landscapes, often returning to the same place again and again over weeks, months and years. This exhibition, the first survey since his death, includes paintings of four of his favourite places: Regent's Park and Kew Gardens in London; Stourhead in Wiltshire and Beachy Head on the south coast of England. His exuberant, colourful oil paintings glow. Like Claude Monet, the artist he admired above all others, Berg found new ways to paint the same places. He was a contemporary at the Royal College of Art of David Hockney and the two artists remained lifelong friends.
