Art Night is a free contemporary arts festival transforming London’s East End for one unforgettable night.
Art Night 2017 takes place on Saturday 1 July from 6pm to 4am, presenting acclaimed international art in various historic and iconic sites, secret locations and public spaces.
Art Night 2017 presents 11 artists in 13 locations, with dance, performance, immersive installations, video, virtual reality and music. Participating artists are Charles Avery, Jake & Dinos Chapman, Benedict Drew, Anne Hardy, Lawrence Lek, Melanie Manchot, Lindsay Seers, Do Ho Suh, Güneş Terkol, Ian Whittlesea and a Club Night in collaboration with Boiler Room & artist Alva Noto (aka Carsten Nicolai).
For its second edition, Art Night introduces its first Associate Programme, with more than 60 projects by cultural institutions, galleries, independent initiatives, curators and artists, across east London, ranging from immersive installations and virtual reality to interactive experiences, special screenings and live music.
Art Night 2017 is in collaboration with Whitechapel Gallery and curated by Fatos Üstek. The festival is supported by international auction house Phillips and receives public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
