Master Shipwright's Palace, London, London, United Kingdom
The Nest Collective invites you to enjoy a beautiful outdoor concert with Fay Hield.
Every week from June to September, we gather in beautiful green spaces across London to hear extraordinary music by artists from all over the world.
In the simple way that people have done for thousands of years, we come together around the fire to enjoy music, food, drink, and the company of others.
Support artist for this date is David Gunawardana
A singer who seems to have been born knowing how to carry a tune but with the rarer gift of knowing how to go straight to the heart of a song. Fay’s first two solo albums, Looking Glass (2010) and Orfeo (2012), were released by prestigious folk label Topic Records. They won Fay many accolades as well as a nomination for the Horizon Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Fay’s choice of material and the delivery of it, reflect a rare sensitivity and appreciation of the tradition whilst remaining naturalistic and highly distinctive.
‘Unadorned and quite exquisite’ – Uncut Magazine
David Gunawardana performs songs with an other-worldly quality to them. It might be because of his mellifluous voice. It might be his light touch on his Martin guitar. Or it might be his beguiling tales of far-off forest glades, caves and towers, happy tribes challenged or dancing spirits. With the whispers of Gillian Welch and Anne Briggs hovering around him, he casts a spell with every performance.

“The beautiful venue, the beautiful music, the beautiful weather! Thank you so much.”
“This was my first live music event since the beginning of the year and, although the acts were brilliant, I think what will stay with me is the joy of being with people and enjoying the moment together. I feel very grateful to you all for putting on the event.”
“This event was phenomenal. I cannot wait until I attend another one… the musicians were something else. I certainly didn’t feel as though I was in Peckham, but some enchanted woodlands”
“Walking into a wonderland of nature with beautiful music and people, it made me feel wonderfully elated.”
“The atmosphere was incredible, I knew I would love the music but I loved the atmosphere just as much.”
