Wednesday, October 25, 2017 - 17:30 to 19:00

Ian Doescher, author of The New York Times bestseller William Shakespeare’s Star Wars trilogy is back with his latest Shakespearian Star Wars installation – William Shakespeare’s The Force Doth Awaken.

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust will be hosting an exclusive evening in conversation with Ian Doescher on 25 October at 5.30pm.  Join Ian as he talks about his latest book in the series that re-imagines Star Wars Episode VII as a Shakespearian play, complete with monologues and theatrical stage directions. Very clever, funny, and true to the spirit of the films, this promises to be the perfect evening for Star Wars fans and Shakespeare enthusiasts alike.

Ian Doescher said: “Appearing at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in 2014 was a personal highlight for me as an author and as a Shakespeare fan, it's my Mecca. I am thrilled to be returning to Stratford and appearing at the Trust again this year, and on Saint Crispin's Day, no less. I hope you will join me!”

Published by Quirk Books with stunning detailed illustrations by Spot, is a scene by scene retelling of the record-breaking Force Awakens tale. Readers can enjoy a range of hidden surprises and linguistic jokes all with a Shakespearian twist with character favourites Rey and BB-8.

Taking place at the Shakespeare Centre, Henley Street on Wednesday, 25 October at 5.30pm – 7pm, visitors are invited to hear extracts from this fascinating book as well as facts about Star Wars and Shakespeare himself. Booking is essential as places are limited.  Tickets are £5 per person and can be purchased at www.shakespeare.org.uk/events.
