Underbelly, Bristo Square, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom
Three years ago comedian Lucy Frederick was picking herself up from the floor and ordering a gin and tonic; now she is picking up dirty socks and ordering fish fingers and peas. From disaster queen to model step mum – Famtastic is a stand up show about Lucy’s journey towards becoming part of a modern blended family, avoiding its wicked pitfalls and navigating the alarming world of parenting. Lucy Frederick: Famtastic runs from Wed 31 July to Sun 25 August at the Underbelly Bristo Square.
Lucy Frederick is a comedian, actor and writer based in South East London. She started out training to be an actor at the prestigious East 15 Acting School, graduating in 2003. Since then she has worked in all sorts of other professions such as education, animal nutrition, fat modelling and backing dancing. But now she’s doing stand-up comedy. Which is nice. She is a regular on the comedy circuit having appeared at The Top Secret Comedy Club, The Stand and Just the Tonic amongst lots of others. She is also becoming well known at the Edinburgh Fringe for her ‘eye wateringly honest’ shows about the human condition. Lucy is an Edinburgh Fringe veteran: this will be her 6th year at the Festival, having had acclaimed runs with Even More Naked in 2018, Positively Livid in 2016 and others.
When Lucy is not laying out the laughs she is spending time pretending to read but actually watching the telly with her other half and two brilliant stepchildren (brilliance dependent on how hungry/grumpy Lucy is) and their genuinely marvellous Jack Russell called Heston, who’s genuinely bloody marv.
