The Angel Hotel, Abergavenny, Wales, United Kingdom
Peak Cymru are delighted to present the online catalogue for the Peak Art Auction 2018.
The selection of work for the auction has been made by Creative Director, Rebecca Spooner, who is the Wales 2017/18 Clore Fellow. Trustee Oliver Fairclough, formerly Keeper of Art at National Museum Wales, provides an art historian’s and collector’s perspective on the Auction artwork here. You can read Artists’ biographies here.
The Auction takes place in The Ballroom at The Angel, Abergavenny on Friday 9th March starting at 7pm. It is a ticket only event with numbers strictly limited to 120 people. Previous events have sold out, so if you haven’t already reserved tickets, and want to attend, book here. Tickets cost £40 each or £35 for groups of 4 or more.
The auction ticket price covers auction costs, meaning that all proceeds from the auction go towards projects aimed at unlocking the potential of children and young people. Peak Cymru runs Arts and Health projects to boost confidence and wellbeing, as well as skills and training projects to support them to thrive in a digital age.
Auction art can be viewed on the website and in person at The Ballroom at The Angel Hotel, throughout Friday 2nd March from 10am. Those keen to acquire original art but unable to attend the event, can make a commission bid. Complete a bid online here or download a commission bid form and email or post it to us.
The auction evening is fun and sociable, starting with a drinks reception at 7pm and followed by a tapas supper around tables of 10 people, with the auction starting at 8.30pm. Guests are given an auction number on arrival, and guidance about how to bid. This year’s auctioneer is well-known TV presenter Arfon Haines Davies and it promises to be a lively occasion.
