Broadgate, Coventry, West Midlands, United Kingdom
Sports Fest will take place from Tuesday 27 July – Sunday 1 August 2021 from 10am until 4pm each day in Broadgate. The six-day event will feature a wide range of activities designed to encourage more local people to take part in sport and physical activities led by a range of community organisations and sport clubs.
Coventry is a proud host venue for many sporting events including the London 2012 Olympic Games and more than 180+ large scale and community events during the city’s year as European City of Sport in 2019. Events such as Sports Fest build upon the success and legacy of such events. In Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture, the city also looks forwards to welcoming the Rugby League World Cup in October – before looking ahead to the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
While Sports Fest 2020 couldn’t take place due to the global pandemic, Sports Fest 2019 attracted more 14,000 people, which is 3,500 more than 2018, and since 2012 over 49,000 have taken part in the annual event.
National Governing Bodies, local clubs and a range of sport and physical activity partners are invited to come together for an opportunity to raise their profile, promote further opportunities and exit routes and to increase accessibility, promotion and participation of sport and physical activity locally.
