UnampliFire: 10 Year Anniversary Festival
23rd April: 4pm until Midnight
The Nest Collective, BBC Folk Club of 2010, is an acoustic folk club (Formed in 2006 by Mercury nominated singer Sam Lee) pushing the musical boundaries within the promotion of folk, world and traditional music.
The last 10 years have seen an incredible tidal change in appreciation of Folk Music as an art form now accepted on the cultural main stage. The Nest Collective (formally the Magpie’s Nest) from very humble beginnings has charted this resurgence in a unique way seeking the unusual, the overlooked and often the very best in New Folk, Old Folk and No Folk.
We at the Nest Collective have always felt that the experience at our shows when there are no microphones have always been the most intimate and special so we've decided to create an entire festival on those conditions. No sound checks, no waiting for bands to plug in; just pure continuous music over 5 areas.
Our 10 year celebration of the Nest Collective sees us return back to the unbelievably stunning setting on the banks of the River Thames, in the 17th Century Master Shipwrights Palace in Deptford. Concerts will happen throughout the house’s grand rooms, riverside boathouse and round the campfire. We will be welcoming many splendid names the Nest has been lucky to have pass through over the last decade.
With over 30 performances in 8 hours, it's going to be like no other music event.. we promise!
