You don’t have to be a fan of Wordsworth’s poetry to be entertained and inspired by your visit.
The house, its contents and ambience are preserved as it was when William left in 1808. An entertaining guided tour gives a vivid narrative of what life was like, the famous people who visited and what they got up to!
After Wordsworth died, his possessions were given to the Wordsworth Trust, so Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum is the only place in the world where his personal belongings and handwritten documents can be seen in the place that inspired his greatest work.
