Museums in Cornwall, Glasgow, Hull, London and Weybridge have been nominated by Artfund for Museum of the Year 2018, the world's biggest museum prize and the UK's largest arts award.
The award "celebrates innovation and exceptional achievement" in museums and galleries across the UK. The winner will receive £100,000 and each finalist will receive £10,000 towards their future activity.
The nominees are:
- Brooklands Museum (Weybridge)
- Ferens Art Gallery (Hull)
- Glasgow Women's Library (Glasgow)
- The Postal Museum (London)
- Tate St Ives (Cornwall)
2017's winner was The Hepworth Wakefield. Previous winners include Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum, The Whitworth (Manchester), William Morris Gallery, and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
