Arts Council report on diversity of the workforce in arts and culture published

A survey looking at equality and diversity of Arts Council's National Portfolio Organisations and Major Partner Museums workforces in 2015 and 2016 has been published. 

National Portfolio Organisations reported the following workforce data for 2015/16:

  • 17 per cent were Black and Minority ethnic
  • 4 per cent self-defined as disabled
  • 55 per cent were female
  • 29 per cent were aged between 20 and 34
  • 22 per cent were aged between 35 and 49

Major Partner Museums reported the following workforce data for 2015/16:

  • 7 per cent were Black and Minority ethnic
  • 4 per cent self-defined as disabled
  • 62 per cent were female
  • 17 per cent were aged between 20 and 34
  • 14 per cent were aged between 35 and 49

The report also features Arts Council England's workforce and leadership figures as well as sections on the "creative case for diversity", access to funding and audiences.
