British Council funding new art collaborations with UK and Sub-Saharan Africa partners

British Council's new Art new Audiences open call is looking to fund 10 projects that will lead to the creation of work to reach fresh audiences in both the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Major projects can bid for up to £30,000 while £5–10,000 will be available for experimental project proposals. 

Successful projects will:

  • reach new audiences in both regions in the 18–35 age bracket
  • cover one or more of the following mediums: architecture, creative economy, cultural skills, dance, design, fashion, film, literature, music, theatre, visual arts
  • include partners from at least three countries (at least one UK and one Sub-Saharan Africa
  • intend to build upon cross country collaborations and relationships, as well as creating new ones.
