The Department for International Trade, with British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and the Association of Independent Music (AIM), has organised the first-ever UK music trade mission to São Paolo, Brazil, the world' tenth-largest music market. This coincides with the city's SIM music convention.
The mission will take place 2-8 December 2019, with an application deadline of 1 November. Download the application form below and return them to Phil.Patterson@trade.gov.uk. The mission costs £120+VAT, plus costs of hotel and flights which must be arranged by applicants themselves. A special rate for flights and hotels will be sent to successful applicants.
Applicants should include artists; digital distribution companies; festival bookers, directors, organisers and promoters; managers; promoters; publishers; record labels; across all genres of music.
The music industry is growing rapidly in Brazil, a country that is increasingly consuming international music and developing its association with the international music business. The trade mission will act as a catalyst for collaboration, exploration and expansion of the British music industry in Brazil. It will include a programme of education, networking, B2B meetings, conferences, showcases, site visits and other music related activities.
Some of the activities planned with the British Consulate in São Paulo include relevant site visits as well as several opportunities for B2B meetings and networking with opinion leaders and industry professionals. All delegates will be attending SIM São Paulo 2019.
