British Council has paused a lot of its international and UK activity. To find out more on British Council activity in your country, follow the instructions on their website. We have republished the statement and information below for convenience.
"During this uncertain time, our students, customers and partners’ health is our priority.
As a global organisation we connect with 80 million people in 100 countries through activities including arts programmes, English language teaching and exams.
In many countries, we have temporarily paused this activity in response to government and health authority guidance. In some countries we are able to continue while using appropriate health and safety protocols.
If you want to know if your exam, class or programme is affected, please check the website of our office in your country in the first instance. You can find your country contact by using the dropdown menu on our homepage.
If you are based in England, please liaise with our UK customer services team or your main contact at the British Council. Links to country sites for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales are in the dropdown menu on the homepage.
We remain committed to ensuring people all over the world can connect through English language and culture. In the coming weeks that is likely to be predominantly digital."
Further online links about learning English, about other cultures and taking part in virtual programmes can be found on their COVID-19 page.
