KYMIRA Sportswear wins SXSW innovation award

Reading-based sportswear company KYMIRA Sport has won 'Best Bootstrap Company' and a cheque for $1,000 at the 2017 edition of SXSW's Accelerator Pitch Event. The award was for "the company who has done the most with the least". KYMIRA Sport were described on the SXSW website as having "developed a disruptive business model to deliver medical innovation through their Sportswear brand".

The two-day competiton, now in its ninth year, sees 50 startups pitching their companies across 10 technological categories including augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), enterprise and smart data, entertainment and content, health and wearables, innovative world, payment and fintech, security and privacy, social and culture, sports, and transportation. Three extra categories included Best Bootstrap Company, Most Innovative Company and Best One Minute Speed.
