New fundraising arm for Music Venue Trust

Music Venue Trust (MVT)  has launched its public-facing fundraising arm Fightback which is looking to raise £100,000 from over 100 events in 2018 across the UK.

Fightback will invite the 360 members of MVT's Music Venue Alliance to organise live music events in support of the charity's work. The money riased will support MVT's Emergency Response service which directly intervenes to tackle threats of closure. In 2017, this service halted closures of 41 grassroots music venues.

Fightback Events Manager, Gary Prosser said: “Fightback has been over a year in the making and I am looking forward to working closely with every grassroots music venue in the UK to create some memorable shows for fans of live music all over the UK. We’re building an incredible opportunity for artists and brands to come together to directly connect with grassroots music venues and make a real difference.”

MVT campaigns to keep venues open, improve their reputation, lower their costs and increase their income and is reliant upon donations, sponsorship and financial support from fundraising initiatives to do this.
