The Great Exhibition of the North, the biggest event in England in 2018, has revealed the core of its extensive 3-month programme with NewcastleGateshead coming alive with storytelling charting the arts and design, culture and innovation of the North of England on 22 June–9 September 2018.
The GREAT Britain Campaign and Department for International Trade have revealed the enticing programme for the GREAT Festival of Innovation taking place in Hong Kong on 21–24 March 2018.
The International Business Festival 2018, taking place at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool on the 12–28 June 2018 and a major event during the Liverpool 2018 programme celebrating 10 years since being named European Capital of Culture, has announced the first phase of its programme.
With 12 sectors over 12 days, Monday to Thursday for three weeks, the programme is packed with speakers and panels on the Futures Stage, as well as networking opportunities.

The opening celebration of the Great Exhibition of the North on 22 June has been revealed ahead of the full programme in January 2018. Visitors will have the first chance to experience great northern art, design and innovation in the Great Exhibition Hubs and Trails. These venues and locations will remain open until dusk as audiences are drawn to the Quayside for a special evening event revealing major Great Exhibition of the North pieces.
Ten years since the game-changing year as European Capital of Culture, Liverpool is marking the milestone with a programme of exciting, inspirational and thought-provoking projects which will shine an international spotlight onto the incredible cultural hub this city has become.
Bringing together international artists, performers and homegrown talent which has emerged over the last decade, more than 40 events and festivals will take place in and across the city region, including firsts, one-off spectacles and some returning, crowd-pulling favourites.
2018 will shine a light on the North of England. Liverpool launches a cultural programme marking 10 years since the city was named European Capital of Culture. This is followed by the International Business Festival on 12–28 June. Shortly after, Newcastle-Gateshead hosts the three-month Great Exhibition of the North dedicated to telling the story of Northern England through its art and culture, design and innovation.
